Ghat & Dham
Ghat: A ghat generally refers to a series of steps leading down to a river, often used as a place for religious rituals, such as bathing, cremation, or prayer. Ghats are deeply connected with the cycle of life and death, playing a role in Hindu rituals of purification and salvation. Some famous ghats in Nepal, like the Pashupatinath cremation ghats along the Bagmati River, are well-known for their religious importance.
- Dham: A dham signifies a sacred place or pilgrimage destination associated with Hindu deities and divine significance. In Hinduism, dhams are revered locations where devotees can seek blessings, spiritual upliftment, and divine connection. Nepal is home to several dhams, including Muktinath, Gosaikunda, and Janakpur, each holding unique spiritual stories and practices.
